Submission of the application

The application form can only be submitted electronically at the following link:

  1. Applicants may only enter one programme of study/field of study per application. A separate application form must be completed for each programme/field of study. Even if full-time or combined studies are chosen, there must be a separate application form.

  2. a) If the applicant has already completed secondary education, he/she must fill in the averages for years 1 to 4 of secondary education (for the second half of the year) and the average of the final examination in the online application.

    (b) If the applicant will be graduating this school year, he/she shall fill in the electronic application form with the averages for years 1 to 3 for the second semester and for year 4 with the average for the first semester.

  3. a) Applicants for studies in bachelor's degree programmes are obliged to upload a file together with the electronic application - a scanned (offset) copy (.pdf or .jpg format) of the catalogue certificate confirmed by the secondary school, or all the report cards for the individual years of study at the secondary school (if the applicant has not yet completed his/her studies, he/she uploads the half-year report card for the 4th year). The copies must be of sufficient quality to show all the details clearly.

    (b) Only if the applicant is unable to upload these copies electronically, he/she shall send them by post together with the signed application form printed from the electronic portal to:

  4. By post, the applicant sends an officially certified copy of the school leaving certificate.

  5. The Faculty of Agriculture and Technology does not require a doctor's certificate.

  6. The application will be accepted after payment of the application fee.

Admission procedure

The entrance examination for the follow-up Master's degree programmes will take place on 20th June 2023. The alternative date will be 26th June 2023.

For the entrance examinations, you will always find study outlines or sample questions for the individual fields of study to which they relate. The test is in written form.

Admission without admission procedure

For Bachelor's degree programmes, the only condition for admission is a full secondary education. This type of study is without entrance examinations, the order of passes from secondary school determines admission.

The dean may waive the entrance examination for applicants who are graduates of the Bachelor's degree programme at the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology at USB who have applied for any of the follow-up degree programmes, provided that their average grade in the Bachelor's degree programme, excluding the results of the state final examinations, was lower than or equal to 1.8.

Acceptance

You will be notified by post of the outcome of the admissions process. The letter will include an application form for accommodation in the dormitory, an ID card and an invitation to enrol.

Enrollment for first-year students takes place in the last week of August. At enrolment you will find out essential information for your studies and complete the relevant forms.

Multifunctional Agriculture

The Master's degree program Multifunctional Agriculture is based on a broader concept of agriculture, where agricultural companies combine agricultural primary production, environmental protection and other activities, such as processing products on the farm and selling them, agrotourism or some aspects of social farming.

About the Degree progamme

The study program is primarily aimed at foreign students and is taught in English. With regard to the two basic areas of countries from which students will establish themselves, it has a broader focus. At the first in case of full study is designed to provide students with sufficient information for agricultural production and management of the agricultural landscape. Emphasis is also placed on competences the work with literature and the ability to solve specific problems. For the second, the Multifunctional Agriculture will provide students of the ERASMUS+ exchange programme with a thematically comprehensive semester of education. Students can choose one or more semesters, depending on the orientation of study at the home university.

The degree programme is divided into four thematically linked semesters:

  1. semester – biological base of agriculture unifies knowledge of students from geographically and climatically different countries to the level needed for successful completion of other semesters
  2. semester – conventional farming apart from cultivation and breeding-focused subjects, also agricultural biotechnologies
  3. semester – organic farming presents knowledge on planning sustainable systems of agricultural management, cultivating plants and breeding animals within ecological agriculture as well as on the processing of bioproduction at farms, social agriculture and agrotourism.
  4. semester – landscape management addresses questions concerning landscape planning, regional management and soil erosion protection.
Who can apply

Only graduates with a bachelor degree in the study fields of agriculture and related fields like horticulture, veterinary medicine, agricultural landscape management, agroecology, food processing with proven basics of agriculture (crop production and animal husbandry will be considered for admission.

Only students who graduated from their bachelor degree in 2018 and later will be considered for admission. Students with an earlier date of graduation from their bachelor degree are not eligible for admission.

How to apply

The admission procedure consists of 5 steps. To take the next step, you must get an invitation from the International Department Office of the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology.

If you do not get the invitation, please do not proceed to the next step of the admission procedure!

  • Step 1

    • transcript of records
    • proof of English knowledge (if English is not your official language)

    In a four-week delay you will be informed whether your application is accepted or refused. In the case of acceptance, you will be invited to proceed to Step 2.

  • Step 2

    Fill and submit the electronic application form:

    For your application to be successfully submitted and processed by the Study Department, you must open the application form, generate the access code, fill in your personal data and pay 500 CZK - the fee for administration of the admission proceedure.

    After successfully completing Step 2 you will receive a confirmation of preliminary acceptance to study.

  • Step 3

    The selected applicants will be invited to an online interview with a representative of the International Relations Office of the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology per MS Teams. Each applicant will be informed about the date of the interview in advance.

  • Step 4

    Submit the verification of your bachelor‘s diploma.

    There are 3 forms of verification of the authenticity of a foreign diploma depending on the state in which the education was obtained – an officially verified copy (OVC), an apostille (A), or a legalization (L). The required form of verification according to countries can be found in the appendix to Rector's Ordinance R 450: 

    After receiving the verification of your bachelors‘s diploma, we will send you the documents needed to apply for your visa (confirmation of the receiving entity, the acceptance to study, and a preliminary accommodation contract).

  • Step 5

    Apply at the embassy to get a visa to the Czech Republic.

    Students from countries outside the EU arriving for a period longer than one year have to apply for a long-term residence permit for study purposes. Check the website of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic or consult your local Czech embassy or consulate for the latest information regarding visa requirements.

    To help you apply for the visa you can be included in the STUDENT MODE that enables a priority invitation to the embassy.

    Please bear in mind that the academic year begins usually in the last week of September. It is important that you arrive in the Czech Republic in time to start successfully your study at the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology.

How to apply

    Select a topic of dissertation from the list above. The topic must correspond to the study field of your previous study.

  • Step 2

    Fill and submit the electronic application form:

    The deadline to submit the electronic application including the payment of the administration fee is March 31, 2024.

    After successfully completing Step 2 you will receive a confirmation of preliminary acceptance to study.

  • Step 3

    The selected applicants will be invited to an oral admission examination per MS Teams. The admission examination will take place after March 31, 2024 after termination of the formal admission procedure. Each applicant will be informed about the date of the examination in advance.

  • Step 4

    Submit the verification of your master‘s diploma.
