Faculty Departments
The department is a guarantor of a study programme called "Agroecology". It is included in the Bachelor and the Master degree, in a full-time and a distance form of study too. A specialization programme is called "Organic farming". There are crucial subjects and issues of this study programme: pedology, agrochemistry, agrotechnology, organic farming, and non-production function of landscape and complex use of biomass.

Agricultural Machinery and Services
The Department of Agricultural Machinery and Services is a part of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of South Bohemia. It offers several study programmes focusing on a machinery application in agriculture and transport. Subjects dealing with plant and animal production technology and machinery are crucial for the department. Other subjects are taught at the department too: agricultural machinery and services, and environmental aspects of agriculture. The department offers some technical subjects to students of the other study programmes too.
The Department of Animal Husbandry Sciences is a guarantor of two Bachelor/Master study programmes called "Zootechnology" and "Agricultural biotechnology" and one Bachelor study programme called "Sustainable landscape farming systems". It is a guarantor of four Doctoral study programmes as well.
The Department of Chemistry and Agrochemistry was one of the first departments established at the faculty. It was established in 1960. In 1972, the name was changed into the "Department of Chemistry". Inorganic, analytical and organic chemistry and biochemistry were taught there. The department was located in Šrámkova Street No. 9 till 1996. Since 1996, it has been located in a new building of the Academy of Sciences and at the University of South Bohemia, in Čtyři Dvory.
Since 2006, the department has been a guarantor of a study programme called "Biology and protection of 'hobby' organisms". Range of subjects has widened and there are a lot of specialized subjects provided by the department, i.e. phytogeography and zoogeography, taxonomy of the CITES animals, research paper work draw-up principles, anatomy and morphology of plants, plants in terrariums, cactus growing, orchid growing, plants in aquariums, etc.
The Department of Landscape Management is a guarantor of a study programme called "Land consolidation and transfer of properties". It has been accredited within the Faculty of Agriculture, University of South Bohemia since 1996. The following subjects and issues are involved: land consolidation, landscape, geodetics, water management, construction, geographic information systems and remote sensing, hunting, economics and other subjects.
The department’s history is as long as the history of the Faculty of Agriculture. It was established in 1960. Educational, scientific and research activities of the department have always focused on plant growing, breeding and protection, landscape protection and plant biotechnologies.
