About the programme

The follow-up master degree programme Quality and Processing of Agricultural Products deepens in more detail the areas related to the quality and technology of processing plant and animal products, food hygiene and safety, human dietetics, and innovative practices in the processing industry.Graduates of this program can continue their studies at Faculty of Agriculture (South Bohemia University) in accredited doctoral study fields.
Graduates of this program are agricultural engineers, with a broad theoretical basis and practical knowledge of the field, who can find employment:
  • at the level of medium and higher enterprises in the field of processing of agricultural raw materials and food;
  • in the area of trade in raw materials and food;
  • in control and supervisory activities in state administration;
  • in the consulting sphere;
  • in research and development activities;
  • in pedagogical activities.
The study program is taught in Czech. The foreign applicant has the opportunity to take Czech language course for the first time and thus obtain a certificate of knowledge of the Czech language, at least category B1. An intensive Czech course for foreigners is provided by the Faculty of Arts of the University of South Bohemia in Č. Budějovice, Department of Czech Studies. A similar course is also organized by Charles University in Prague, the Institute of Language and Vocational Training, the Poděbrady and Mariánské Lázně study centers. The second option is often used by so-called government scholarship holders, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

How to apply

Successful completion of the bachelor's study program of appropriate specialization (agricultural, ecology, biology, chemistry) and successful completion of the admission procedure. The fields for the written entrance exams are Quality of Plant Products and Quality of Animal Products. The specific conditions of the admission procedure are always done in specified documents for the relevant academic year.
